CTI’s Justice Division: Nationwide and Experienced!

If you’re curious about the future of AV technology, the biennial Court Technology Conference is the place to be. CTI’s Justice Division attended the biennial event earlier this month. Held by the National Center for State Courts, it’s a rare opportunity to see and hear how technically sophisticated courts can be and a great place to find out what AV can do for a judge and their courtroom.

The biggest attraction?

“There are three things judges love with the new technology,” says CTI’s Justice Division Director, Adam Lofredo, “We can hear everyone! We can see everyone with all of the displays! It is so easy to use!”

Courtroom Upgrades

That’s one advantage for courtrooms that were upgraded during the pandemic. Sure, post-pandemic judges are less likely to let lawyers participate via video conference. But with modern audio-visual gear in place, in-court proceedings have improved audio, making it easier for everyone, the jury, the lawyers, and the judge, to hear what’s happening.

And that gear can be leveraged to make many tasks simpler and more affordable, like bringing a court into ADA compliance for hearing or visually impaired persons. CTI partnered with Interprenet to demonstrate their ability to bring in an interpreter from anywhere in the world and into a courtroom. They’re working to build a network of court-certified interpreters comparable to what they currently furnish to the heath industry.

I think this has definitely enhanced our experience, it’s enhanced, mine, it’s enhanced my client’s experience.

One of the newer companies that had Court Technology Conference attendees talking was Tech Unicorn and their  Virtual Hearing Services. The system “allows participants to attend a virtual court session, in which they can interact with the judge through a live video stream using a browser or an application via a laptop, tablet or smart phone.” Built around Microsoft Teams (and Azure Communication Services (ACS), should you be curious),  it’s a ground-up system designed for courts, hearing boards, and government agencies around the world. It can automate recording and archiving, live broadcasting, evidence management, and much much more.

CTI’s Justice Division is ready to help courts take advantage of the technology they’ve already installed. Our team has completed installations in close to two thousand courts in twenty-nine states. We’ve helped thousands of courtrooms with new technology in 45 states. With statewide court upgrades in progress across Nebraska and Iowa, our experience integrating virtual hybrid court technology is unmatched and continues to grow.

As always, if you have any AV or Live Events needs, please reach out to us at CTI.

It was the right company to go with because I knew that I was going to get all hands on deck to meet our very aggressive timeline and I couldn’t be happier.

When I am working with CTI and want to produce an event, I sit down with my design consultant and I know that we are going to be able to do something really special.
